What do you fear most in life?

Writer: Crystal Childress AdkinsCrystal Childress Adkins

Has fear held you back from trying to be a better person? It is likely that fear is the number one thing holding you back from living your best possible life.

The most common fear that holds us back, and my greatest fear, is the fear of failure. We put successful people on a pedestal, casting shame on those that fall short, leaving us asking ‘Why did I even try in the first place?’

On my self discovery journey, I am learning to redefine failure. Behind my fear is a worry of doing something wrong, looking foolish, or not meeting expectations. I am trying to frame the situation in a different light before I try to avoid some unnecessary stress and anxiety by setting approachable goals. I am also working on changing my focus. The chips may not always fall where I want them, but I am focusing on learning and the journey instead of the end result.

If you want to lead a successful life, make sure you're defining success in your own terms.

What do you fear and how are you facing it?
