Get Involved: Hotel Inc

Hotel Inc was founded as an organization in 1981 with the intent to serve the impoverished and homeless families of Warren County. The organization is led by a Board of Directors and Rhondell Miller (the Executive Director). Hotel Inc’s mission is to advocate, educate, empower, and share in the work in the community to ensure that all people have security through safe, affordable housing, healthcare, and nutritious food.

The organization works with those living in poverty or experiencing homelessness in Warren County to meet their medical, housing, and food insecurity needs. They envision a community where each person is valued and has an equal opportunity to thrive. Hotel Inc serves individuals who are experiencing homelessness or living in poverty in our community. These can be people we see on the sides of the roads, as well as, neighbors and friends.

Alan Casada, the Director of Operations for Hotel Inc, says the best way for people to help would be to continue to look past people’s situations and strive to see what factors are leading to their poverty and homelessness. ‘Warren County’s housing and rental market continues to be extremely high and there is a lack of affordable housing. This means that someone working a minimum wage job can not afford to rent a place that fits within their budget,’ he explains.

Hotel Inc’s Programs include:

  • Manna Mart - provides nutritionally balanced monthly meals with varied menus and options for participants to choose. The majority of participants in the food pantry utilize the service at a time of crisis.

  • Food-for-All Community Garden - is raised beds on HOTEL INC’s property and maintained by volunteers. The produce grown is distributed in Manna Mart, adding fresh, local produce to our pantry distribution.

  • Cooking and gardening classes are also offered.

  • Affordable Housing Initiative - utilizes a variety of strategies to increase affordable housing.

  • Preferred Tenant Program - to educate individuals about housing rights and responsibilities while supporting them as they work towards securing stable housing.

  • Education and Development Center - Laundry and Showers, Education Classes, Housing Navigation for Preferred Tenant Program Participants, Street Medicine Navigation

  • Piecemakers - a dedicated group of quilt makers who donate their time and talents every month. Quilts produced by Piecemakers are given to newly housed clients, clients with high utility costs, or clients who have suffered loss due to fires or flooding.

  • Street Medicine - Teams of volunteer nurses, public health experts, mental health professionals, doctors, housing navigators, and our street medicine coordinator visit people in encampments throughout the city/county at least three times a week. Services provided include access to AHCA, navigation of the health care system, basic needs to help with survival, vital checks, wound care, health assessments and more.

Ways you can support Hotel Inc include:

  • DONATE - The work of HOTEL INC is supported fully by individual donors, grants, and community partners. This includes churches, businesses, sponsors, and various in-kind donors. At this time we are limiting our donations of food due to having an abundance of recent donations. Any future food donations are limited to fresh produce/meat and only whole grain and healthy pantry staples (Whole grain pastas/cereals/oats, canned chicken/tuna, low sodium soups/vegetables, etc.), and they need to be coordinated with Alan Casada (Director of Operations).

  • SPONSORSHIP - HOTEL INC offers different levels of investment opportunities for one-time or year-round engagement in our mission. No matter the level you choose, sponsorship of HOTEL INC demonstrates your company’s community service commitment and support of Warren County residents. We are always in need of financial partners who will commit to giving monthly towards the programs and operations of HOTEL INC.

  • VOLUNTEERING - HOTEL INC is always looking for volunteers to help in various programs.
