Remember Me

By Mary Higgins Clark

Menley Nichols is unable to forgive herself for the death of her two-year-old son, Bobby, although she is blameless for the car accident.  Menley’s PTSD causes her marriage to Adam, a high-profile defense attorney, to begin to fall apart until the birth of their daughter, Hannah.  With no idea of what is in store, the family rents a house in Cape Cod for a month, confident the tranquility will be ideal. Their peace is disturbed when strange things start to happen that make Menley relive the horror of the accident and fear for Hannah.  Adam and Menley become entangled with a murder suspect, an Alzheirmers victim that may hold a vital clue, a teenage babysitter, and an attractive real estate agent from Adam’s past.  They are drawn into a dark and sinister web of events which threatens their marriage, their child and ultimately Menley's sanity.

This was the first book I ever read by Mary Higgins Clark.  I found her writing to be compelling and informative.  In this novel, she captures the personalities and atmosphere of Cape Cod beautifully.  She does her research and sets a well paced story with interesting characters. A great psychological thriller that leaves you guessing right up to the end. If you like mysteries with a little creepy factor thrown in and haven't read this one yet I recommend you do. I think you'll enjoy it.
