Instagram can be an amazing place to watch, listen and learn… Here are a few of my fav pages to follow…
— Stephanie Yeboah is a body positivity advocate who wrote the book “Fattily Ever After: A Black Fat Girl's Guide to Living Life Unapologetically” (Sept 2020) where she speaks openly and courageously about her own experience on navigating life as a black, plus-sized woman. Her stories and captions support the Black Lives Matter movement, and her personal photos are also a political act, helping to change the cultural conversation about body love.
— Humans of NY was the first of its kind when it first launched. Brandon Stanton would photograph random people in NY and tell their story in the photo caption. It’s one of the rare Instagram accounts where the captions are more powerful than the photos.
— Kristin Damstetter is a delight to frequent when it comes to mental well-being, mindfulness, and meditation content. She does an excellent job of saving her Instagram Stories in their respective categories so that new users and existing followers can refer to her Stories on meditation, journaling, and more.
— Dailydose is one of the biggest motivational accounts on Instagram. It spreads influential messages daily. The founder, Tim Karsliyev, created Daily Dose because he believes we have a duty to act—not talk, not think, not imagine, but to step up and make a real difference.
— Tabitha Brown is an actress and social media personality whose content is centered around veganism, humor and motivational speaking. She recently released her book “Feeding the Soul (Because It's My Business): Finding Our Way to Joy, Love, and Freedom” (Sept 2021) where she shares the wisdom she gained from her own journey, showing readers how to make a life for themselves that is rooted in nonjudgmental kindness and love, both for themselves and for others.
What other Instagram accounts do you follow and learn from? I’d love to hear…
