Podcasts are all the rage right now, more than ever with us all in quarantine, but with over 800,000 podcasts out there, where do you start? Here are my top 10 suggestions to get you started.
1. Crime Junkie - True crime. Stay Weird, Stay Rude, and Stay Alive! Hosted by Ashley Flowers and Brit Prawat. Indiana based, but stories from all over the world. Some solved, but mostly ones that need attention. My favorite episodes: WANTED: The Killer on the High Bridge, CONSPIRACY: The Women of Juarez, and SERIAL KILLER: Israel Keyes.
2. This American Life - Hosted by Ira Glass, this radio program is broadcast on numerous public radio stations, and is also a weekly podcast. Each week a new theme is chosen and they put together different kinds of stories based on that theme. The style is primarily a journalistic nonfiction program, but it also features essays, memoirs, field recordings and even short fiction. My favorite episodes: Episode 690: Too Close to Home and Episode 668: The Long Fuse
3. Everything is Alive - A very interesting podcast inside the mind of inanimate objects if they could talk. Full of humor and insight. My favorite episodes: Josh -The Chainsaw, Eugene -Tattoo, and Tami and Ed - Sharpie.

My favorite episodes: Episode 14: Ru Paul, Episode 111: Ginger Zee, and Episode 115: Your Mediation Quesions, Answered!
6. Armchair Expert - Host Dax Shepard, actor (Parenthood / Without a paddle), writer/director (Punk’d) and husband (to Kristen Bell), armed with more than a decade of sobriety, a degree in Anthropology and four years of improv training, attempts to discover human “truth” without lab work, clinical trials or data collection. In his own words, he will be (in the great tradition of the 16th-century scientists) an Armchair Expert. My favorite episodes: Episode 8 - Ellen DeGeneres, Episode 29: Mila Kunis, and any with Kristen Bell.
7. Backstage Banter - A new / local podcast brought to you by the Public Theater of Kentucky. Co-hosts Derek and Amber take you deeper into the Bowling Green arts community by chat with inspiring artists and creatives to find out what inspires them and what they love doing. My favorite episodes: Andee Rudloff and Liz Fentress.
8. On the Lime - A fairly new/ local podcast about marketing, media and success in the digital age. I've never been much on podcasts, but Aaron has got me into listening to Dale Earnhardt Jr's. It's available at https://www.dirtymomedia.com/dalejrdownload Any of the episodes are amazing, from him recalling certain races, to having friends/family/other drivers on there, and he is always very funny.
