Megan Casebier, Realtor, says her biggest influence in life has been her father. She explains ‘He always put my mom and I first and we never doubted his love even when he was hard on us. He would always work hard and often take jobs he didn’t want during layoffs from the coal mines just to provide for us and make sure we had health insurance. He showed me the importance of going to church, being good to others, and saving money for the rainy days.’
Megan’s ideology as a realtor is that everyone deserves a home. ‘I LOVE working with first time homebuyers, especially those that thought they may not ever qualify to purchase a home. I love educating them on the process and working with lenders that aren’t afraid to help them with their credit issues and take the time to explain everything.’
‘Communication and honesty are so vital in the relationship building process,’ Megan says. ‘ So many Realtors will tell clients what they want to hear about condition and pricing instead of fact based reality. So many problems can be avoided with extra communication and having proper expectations set. Doing all market research and showing numbers in black and white can help people make fact-based decisions, not emotional based ones.’
‘My greatest accomplishment to this point has been the multiple businesses that I have started on my own. I love taking an idea for a new business, researching it, and putting it into action. To see it grow and thrive is such an amazing feeling.’
For the future, Megan wants to continue to be the best mom, realtor, friend, and business owner she can be. ‘I’d love to keep building a few homes, maybe do a few flips a year too. I just want to keep challenging myself to sell more homes each year and not be afraid to try new things.’
The best advice she has received is to never be the smartest person in the room. ‘Always surround yourself with those that challenge you and teach you to be better. It is never too late to learn and grow,’ Megan adds.
Advice for our readers, Megan divulges, ‘Don’t be afraid to change. Whether it be a relationship that no longer serves you, or a whether it’s a job you don’t like. Always seek to learn or better yourself. Listen to podcasts, read, or listen to audiobooks daily. The Alchemist, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Think and Grow Rich are a few books that helped me to grow.’
Outside of work, Megan loves to spend time with her kids and boyfriend. They love to travel, listen to music, cook and watch movies.
