Woman of the Week - Dora Cox

Dora Marie Cox is a WFH Dental Billing Specialist, she does claims submission and insurance eligibility for a Pediatric Dental company based in CO.

Dora has always been big on dental hygiene, but she never thought about making a career out of it. She says, ‘I was finishing up my last semester of college for my associates of science degree and I was not sure what I wanted to continue going to school for. During that time, I had come across dental assisting school. It sounded interesting and something I wanted to learn more about. I signed up, completed the courses, and graduated top of my class! I love kids so I chose to work in a pediatric dental office.”

She worked there for 5 years, and absolutely loved it. Dora loves helping make a difference in children’s dental health. Her favorite part about it was comforting the patients and building trust with them. Unfortunately, she needed to find a job that was a better fit for her children’s needs. “I started working from home and I still get to do what I love, pediatric dental! I am not physically with the patients, but I know that I am still making a difference in their lives,” Dora added.

When asked if she considered herself a leader, Dora responded, “Very much so I consider myself a leader. I am a woman… We are natural born leaders! I am also a good communicator, I motivate others and I have a positive attitude throughout most situations. I love to see and help others succeed.”

Dora’s greatest influence had been her family but more specifically her Mother and Nanny. “They have shown me what women are capable of by their hard work, resilience and compassion for others. I have learned to always get back up, regardless of what life throws at me. They have always been my biggest motivators and supporters. I am forever grateful for them.”

Dora says of her greatest accomplishment, “My biggest accomplishment will never be money, it will be who I raised. I will never experience anything more rewarding in life than being their mother. They give me so much purpose and happiness in life. Every single, ‘I love you Mommy’, makes me feel like the richest Momma in the world."

The most meaningful advice Dora has received came from her Pa. “He always told me to never settle for less than I deserved. By settling you limit yourself and your passions. Therefore, you will lack complete fulfillment in life, and you will never truly be happy.”

Dora used his advice in careers, friendships, relationships, and life in general. “I know what I want, I know what I deserve and I won't stop until I get it. His advice has given me forever motivation and it has helped me remain resilient. You have one life, you deserve more than just less, you deserve the BEST!” she exclaimed.

Moving forward, Dora’s daily goals include striving daily to be a better mother than she was the day before and enjoying every single moment of life because time is not in our favor. Long Term goals for Dora are to remain a good person in this cruel and scary world.

Dora says there is not much people don’t know about her. “I am a free spirited person with no hidden agenda. What you see is what you get!”

Dora’s best meal she have ever had and still have is her Nanny’s Chili. ‘No joke. I am a simple kind of girl and easy to satisfy, especially when it comes to food! Plus, the meaning behind her cooking it, love and comfort.”

Her best vacation was when she went to Gatlinburg for her best friend's bachelorette party. “Seeing the beautiful mountains and celebrating her was so much fun.”

In her free time, Dora likes to socialize with friends and be outdoors. “I love taking walks, going on hikes, and sightseeing. I love cooking for others, it’s one of my love languages. For relaxation, I like to go fishing, hanging out at the creek, or simply sitting on my porch. For recreation, there is not much of that outside of daily mom and household duties. I do love to clean and it’s a stress reliever for me so I am always up and moving.”

Currently, Dora is watching ‘90 Day Fiance’ when she has time. “I am able to learn about other cultures; how they live, work, and love. It is quite intriguing to me!”

The top of her bucket list would be going on an African Safari.
