LaToya Lewis wears many hats. By day, she is a Technical and Clinical Support Analyst for NTT Data Services and, by night, a Cake Decorator at Gigi’s Cupcakes in Bowling Green KY.
LaToya says her greatest influence has been the Bible because it keeps her grounded. LaToya feels her character and integrity have served her well over the years. Her children are her motivation, and she hopes her children pick up her work ethic and drive. “My parents also play a big role in my life because they are both with many talents and they are my go to for advice on juggling a busy schedule.’
Speaking of a busy schedule, 2020 has been packed with so many experiences for LaToya so far, including her appearance on the WBKO segment for the Bridal Fest Expo at the Sloan Convention Center back in February, as well as the Bridal Show at The Carol Knicely Center. ‘Working for Gigi’s Cupcakes has been a true blessing and an honor,’ LaToya says.
‘Take time for yourself, and it’s okay to say no (and say it without guilt),’ LaToya advises. ‘Pray, and try not to stress. It always helps to have someone to talk to. My biggest obstacle is myself: figuring out who I am, and getting past fear. I still feel like there’s more that I haven’t tapped into yet. I don’t know what that is, but I can definitely feel it like it’s something more.'
LaToya shares that her greatest resource is Pinterest. ‘It’s the best tool out there for me, and it will become your best friend.’ Moving forward, LaToya is focusing on ways to increase business.
In her free time, LaToya enjoys watching TV, specifically cooking shows, love stories, and action movies. She also enjoys spending time outdoors and going to dinner with friends and family.
LaToya volunteers at her church by serving in the Kidz Life Jr. Nursery every month. In the future, she hopes to find a way to volunteer to help the homeless in our community.
