Editor's Picks: The Spirits

The Tenth and Magnolia editor-in-chief (aka--me) has compiled for you the best of "The Spirits.” Here's my list (you may be needing this right now).

Wine-

Electra Red Moscato - I used to not like wine (or so I thought). I was determined to find a wine that I did like. I had a wine tasting party and had each of my friends bring over their favorite bottle of wine and a dish of food. We drank so much wine and had so many good eats. By the end of the night, I discovered that I did like wine, and that my favorite was this one! It has a nice sweet, crisp taste, and not too strong… Definitely my go to bottle!

Beer

In my 20’s, I drank mostly beer like Bud Light and Mic Ultra, but as my taste buds matured, my taste in beer did, too. I now like more sweet & fruity beers. I have a tie between my two favorites.

Blue Moon Mango Wheat- Full of ripe mango and hints of honey, this beer has a light body, and a ripe, balanced aroma. This one is seasonal and hard to find.

Purple Haze - Very easy to drink, Purple Haze is a crisp, wheat beer with raspberry puree added after filtration. The raspberries provide the lager with a subtle purple color, a fruity aroma, and a tartly sweet taste. This beer can be found locally on draft at Mellow Mushroom and Double Dogs.

Champagne (Prosecco) -

Da Luca Prosecco - Again, every champagne I had ever had, I did not like. It was bitter and dry. Then, as a treat, my daughter paid for me a night in a snazzy hotel. They provided a bottle of complimentary champagne for my birthday--and I loved it! So I did a little research. Turns out, Prosecco is a sweet version of champagne, and is right up my alley!

I am obviously not a connoisseur of all things fine--I'm always down with a cheap Miller Lite, too. These are just my favorites and I have enjoyed sharing them with you. I would love to hear about your favorites as well, so be sure to comment below or send a message via the "Contact Us" form (or message on Instagram). Also, let me know if you have a topic idea for our next Editors Pick, or if you have any question or comment!

xoxo,
